JOB TITLE: Manager - Market Research/ Consumer Insights

REPORTS TO: GM – Market Research

DEPARTMENT: Marketing

LOCATION: HO ( Gurgaon)

JOB PURPOSE:

. Drive actionable insights on market and consumer to enable business to deliver against key objectives.
. Overall responsibility for all research requirements to enable “ Go To Market” brand and sales teamBuild organizational capability in this sphere that can be leveraged across similar markets in the organization.

DIMENSIONS OF THIS ROLE:

- Overall responsibility for Retail Audit, Consumer Panel and Advtg Tracking to enable market monitoring metrics and execution insights to propel growth of our brands
- To partner market research agencies Like ACNielsen & IMRB in use tools and techniques to do the above.
- To pioneer use of new techniques and models by developing or forming alliances with market research agencies to keep the company ahead of other peers in this sphereBeing the “Consumer Voice” in Brand / Category Forums .

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

· Develop and own a monthly Market Monitor format as well as work with brand and agency interfaces to develop Integrated Brand Health Measurement systems (quarterly) that will feed into the marketing planning process.
· Ensure clear communication and interpretation of actionable research & research insights across a wide range of internal and external clients.
· Management of budgets as well as aiding cost negotiations for future requirements.
· Ensure that all such research is quality controlled and produced according to international standards
· Develop our shopper research understanding to aid channel sales strategies.

- Demonstrated Analytical strengths in the area of market or consumer research
- Self Starter -ability to handle and manage tasks, deliverables, marketing issues independently without supervision.
- Team working competencies- ability to work with numerous touch points and get along with different personalities.
- World View/ Top view - ability to see broader picture and understand how daily/individual tasks add up to the “big picture” + Utilisation of research in a marketing/ business context.

Experience/Knowledge/Technical Skills Required:

Education:
· MBA (marketing) or Post Graduate in Statistics/ Economics or Maths or BE/ B Tech

Experience:
- 4-6 years working experience in total working in a market research agency OR Market research/ Consumer Insight role in any other manufacturing company.
- Preferred to have worked some time in an FMCG/ Retail company in a similar profile (Consumer or Market Insights or Planning)

Technical Skills/Knowledge:

- Office based software packages.
- Good grasp of utilisation of “ research” in a marketing/business context
- Clarity in written and verbal communication (in communicating ideas or interpretations)
- Orientation/ Interest towards market & consumer research
- Analytical skills -summarize, condense and make sense of data.
