Manager Research (R&D)

POSITION: Manager Research
DIVISION: R&D Category Development
REPORTS TO: R&D Category Manager
LOCATION: Gurgaon, India
ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
As a member of the Lavatory Care Group, the candidate will have the following responsibilities:

Individual will be involved with all aspects of product development with a focus on Developing Markets. Individual will be expected to be involved with day to day formulation work and serve as project leader on some initiatives. Good communication skills required to interact with global colleagues.

· Works independently on complex R&D activities according to objectives, which requires specialized technical knowledge and the broad application of technology to develop new products and product improvements.
· Interacts and maintains good communication with Category R&D, Marketing, Production and other Shared Services Groups within R&D to achieve goals and deliver objectives.
· Fully understands the product development process and responsibilities of Category Development.
· Assists in the delivery of complex NPD/EPD projects requiring innovative and creative thinking. Able to allocate resources to maximize project objectives and develop and implement more complex NPD/EPD projects to meet deadlines.
· Applies the principles of experimental design to the development of new products.
· Keeps updated on new innovative technologies and is able to utilize them in developing new Lavatory Care products.
· Evaluate/validate both existing and new Hard Surface Cleaning test methods, adapting them when necessary to product cleaning requirements.

· Experienced and creative Associates and Managers recruited locally in DM regions so that they are people who have lived & breathed the environment.
· Good scientists with industrial experience – not just laboratory – people who know how to source products, not just develop them.
· Reports directly to Local SSG, strong dotted line to Category Director
· will spend 24-36 months as DM R&D NPD, expected next move to Category R&D centres
POSITION QUALIFICATIONS:

· M.Sc. in chemistry or related field
· Minimum of 8 years relative experience
· Strong project management skills
· Basic word processing, spreadsheet and related computer skills
· Ability to carry out development work independently as a member of a development team
· Organized, results oriented, innovative, self starting resourceful
· Strong oral and written communication skills
· Ability to problem solve/trouble-shoot
